b'Our Lady ofthe Magnicat ChapelThe Chapel ofOur Lady ofthe Magnicat was, like Saint Huberts, also built as a private chapel. Henry Wise Miller, a Protestant, built the chapel for his Catholic wife. His wife, Audrey Frazier Miller, was famous for her poem, The White Cliffs ofDover, and other literary works.A wayside chapel located in Houscombe, Gloucester County, England, had enchanted Mr. Miller while he was serving in World War l. The chapel, located on Miller Road just south ofFayson Lakes Road, was modeled after this fourteenth century Anglican church. The rst religious ceremony performed there was the baptism ofMr. Miller on his conversion to the Catholic faith. Upon his death in 1954, Mr. Miller willed the chapel and its 87 acres to the Catholic diocese. Although the congregation has since outgrown the chapel, baptisms and weddings are still per-formed there. Its mellow wood beamed and panelled interior and the blue in its stained glass windows offer worshipers an air oftranquility. Our Lady of the Magnificat Chapel102'
